A good way to start a day…

melon_pool_005It seems that the waiting is over. Cool, sweet melon by clear water under a hot blue sky is a cliché. It’s a good cliché that, through the long cold months, I long to be able to use and today I can.

  1. Aha – summer at last! Make hay while the sun shines Roger…or at least, eat melon and sit by the pool 🙂

All I need is a spoon that goes through the screen!

…and early enough to beat the Germans to the pool 😉
    Very nice chiaroscuro!

    This will amuse you:

Hmm, absolutely mouthwatering offering: may one ask whether French melons really sport this depth of colour or have you been having fun in the photoshop . . . Oh, and if your slumber at the poolside is disturbed in a few hours by wretched noises way, way south, ‘we’ have reached the Pyrenees . . .

  5. What a beautiful picture, my mouth is watering. The melonmongers should commission you for a billboard.

  6. You have managed, with that photo, to set my calendar for an appearance at tomorrow’s farmer’s market. I’ve been waiting for home grown vine picked melons instead of the bowling bowls we are offered by the supermarkets.
    Delicious picture!

  7. That looks delicious! Jade says, “Magnifique!”

  8. a beautiful photo. cliches are cliches for a reason. enjoy!

  9. I could eat that photo, Roger. But, I guess I will have to settle for the fresh peaches I got at the Farmers Market.

  10. It looks wonderfully appealing, Roger 🙂

  11. Enjoy, Roger. It is wonderful weather and that melon looks amazing.

  12. Karen says:

How wonderful…I’ve always heard they are outstanding melons.

  13. ChgoJohn says:

If Satan had brought along a few of these beauties, the Story of Job may have had an entirely different ending. Beautifully shot, Roger.

  14. gorgeous shot! I grabbed melons from the market last week. luckily two out of three of them were fantastic. you can’t win them all.

  15. Happy for you. 🙂

  16. That photo is stunning! I’m speechless.. which is quite a change for me.. just dreaming of water (no, not rain) and blue skies.. and that melon!
