Time waits for no man but makes the exception for Photoshop. The season is ineluctably changing even though the band has not yet struck up for the dance of death. Peaches are still ripening in nearby trees whilst other species have finished fruiting or flowering and are clearly preparing for nature’s contrary demand that they undress for winter. Our changing weather patterns are changing our weather palettes but this chromatic aberration is enjoyed only by those who have the time to sit and watch without the need to react. Such is the privilege of a photographer. And so when I was walking through the woods today I blinked and for a moment it was autumn.
It’s not summer so it must be Autumn….

Photo shop is such a tricky little devil! Un push that button i want summer back!! Have a lovely day out there roger! c
I only pushed it for tiny moment:)
Could you change it to summer here in Bexhill please? Am not enjoy this chilly weather, it´s a bit of a shock to the system!
I’m on the case:)
I love those few days when the trees wash out, right before they turn.
It can sometimes stay like this until until early November and then suddenly the trees are black.
I see you’ve morphed into David Hockney – must be something to do with having Algy in the pool 😉
I remember a strange animated character, like a ball of Blutack, called Morph. I hope I’m not turning into him. I sometimes feel that I might be:)
I can hear that Vision On music and Tony Hart is lurking in the wings…
If you turn into Morph, Roger, I must know about it immediately.
Gorgeous autumnisation. One day I must get a job where I can really appreciate Autumn.
The wonders of Photoseason!
What an excellent phrase. You just might see me use that:)
Incredible-ness! [good thing you didn’t blink twice though or you’d be in the middle of winter.]
Got to watch out for those rapid eye movements. I keep my eyes set on single shot:)
I enjoyed that description, Roger. Very much so.
Thanks for that – glad you enjoyed the walk:)
well done! can i bring summer back that way? That said, the weather is quite nice going into Autumn but I will miss the green 🙂
For much of Europe summer never really came, and when it did it was too late. The chill in the mornings is beginning to make itself felt but so much is still in bloom:)
A pair of sturdy walking shoes, perchance a stick for balance, sunglasses atop one’s head: what a relaxing walk – but getting to the end of the allee of Camelot green, the return proclaiming tomorrow: beautiful twin photos – may I prefer the feeling of the todays . . . .
I’m delighted that you like them. The forest looks pretty amazing in any light:)
Enchanting images!
Many thanks Roberto.
Roger I adore this line – ‘Peaches are still ripening in nearby trees whilst other species have finished fruiting or flowering and are clearly preparing for nature’s contrary demand that they undress for winter.’ The idea of nature undressing for winter, when we are wrapping up intrigues me. As always a joy to visit your blog.
Enjoy the colours and the fading light of this wonderful time of year.
Many thanks, Nicky. It’s wonderful taking pictures at this time of year.
It’s like a writer, having power to create the persons and their characters and even their destiny.
So right:)
I love the light coming through the trees. Our leaves are in the process of changing now…your photo is a prelude of things to come.
Autumn seems to creep up on us. It’s still sunny but there’s change in the air. It’s always a surprise when, suddenly, the leaves are gone.
It does seem as though this one particular season happens in a blink.. without warning.. beautiful photos as always:D
Just waiting for the blink to really happen:)
If only the change of seasons was merely one of palettes. We are experiencing the first real chill of Autumn and though it will be short-lived, it is a sign of things to come.
I felt the cold in my hands this morning as I was having my daily tussle with Algy and the pool. Thankfully the pool will soon be covered with it’s winter cover, so whatever goes on under the covers I won’t know about until Spring:)
