It socks.

There comes a time when up with it one will put no more and that time has come….this time the socks are off. The temperature’s rising and it isn’t surprising, he certainly can …. not bear it any longer; more to the point he must bare it or, even more to the point, bare them: feet are out for summer even if they’re in for the next few weeks they are in fact out….they have burst forth, like pale madly unattractive wingless butterflies, from their socklike chrysalides ready for the gentle warmth of the sun rather than the cocoons of cashmere, wool, cotton, silk or nylon. Today is indeed a good Friday as that for which I have been impatiently waiting is here……..the sun of summer has risen.

    Condemn those socks to isolation!

  2. Jay Bleu says:

Positive vibes coming from this! Too bad it just decided to snow again today in Upstate NY!

And it’s just April. I could wonder what that might mean for August, but no, not in the mood. The espadrilles are once again the shoe of choice. For that I am grateful.

    • Indeed…it’s just April. Am I being crazily optimistic…yes, as crazy optimism is the way to go at this precise time in history.Although the back of my heels are covered in sticking plasters from the back of the shoe rubbing on winter softened skin.

  4. Socks have been locked down here too! Have a safe and sunny weekend both of you πŸ˜€

  5. Socks have become very important here in California, as it’s been raining here like dogs and cats since a week. Going to bed with socks is as comforting , as making comfort food, same goes for my cat, having her own hot water bottle every night.. Stay safe and happy, as my cat is purring my ears off every night.
