Breaking eggs

There is no question, if one is to make an omelette, that eggs must be broken but breaking all the eggs and leaving them to spoil and go bad whilst deciding what to make with them makes grandmothers, who apparently are masters of egg sucking, despair; as for us lesser mortals, to whom egg sucking is as familiar as staying hidden from an invisible killer virus, we are left to wonder why the chefs were such hopelessly unprepared amateurs who believed barefaced lies would stick Humpty together again.

    I’m inspired to get me to the kitchen, plop some eggs in water & fish out the sinkers, dig some withering mushrooms from the fridge & that bag of wrinkled frozen feral berry-tomatoes from summers past & whip up a possible omelette. I’m sending your artwork to my disbanded art group to inspire them too. Merci, Roger.

    • Good to hear from you and delighted that you like it enough to send the artwork to your art group. Having lived in a sort of isolation for the last 10 or 12 years, Jenny and I aren’t finding much of a difference in our lives save for getting used to on line shopping. Deliveries are near impossible to arrange but they will pre-pack an on line order so I don’t have to wander around the shop…just whizz in, pay and leave with my trolley. We have a deep respect for this virus and I’m happy to stay confined for as long as it takes. All the best, Roger

    Blue Peter had me blowing eggs, as a child, so that I could paint and varnish the shell. Sometimes you can have your cake and eat it!
