Rather than writing I’ve been laying on the beach in La Rochelle which is the order of things in August. Summer lassitude together with the limitless produce of the season limits the demand on time spent in the kitchen which, in turn, has given me time to overhaul my photography website. Hope you like it.

Roger, delicious stuff. You have no doubt noticed that the French have interesting faces, which makes the photographer’s lot a little better. Lovely, evocative shots. Thank you. — James
Many thanks, James…glad you liked it:)
I’m sure i’d loose my heart to the food in Lyon 😉
I think it would be a long and arduous holiday:)
I’d have to go into training first 🙂
I don’t want to hear of any doping….is there a Viagra for gourmets:)
Fasting 😉
I very much like the clean lines and white space on your photography site. Perhaps my minimalist side is showing through.
It’s taken me a long time to find a layout as simple:)
Simple and elegant.
🙂
beautiful pictures ! I can see that you visited Guy Lassausaie, which is only 2 km from where I live. Great restaurant !
He was such a nice guy…however, I still prefer the bouchons to the Michelin restaurants…:)
Tell me, is the one with the de Gaulle nose Paul Bocuse?
No…Paul Bocuse is now a very old man who is not seen in the kitchen any more. The guy in the toque is Pierre Orsi of Orsi, a two star Michelin restaurant in Lyon:)
Ah, I thought it was an old photograph….. Thanks for putting me right!
🙂
The face on the Serveuse is priceless. Very nice casual portraits. Be at one with the lassitude.
It was hard choosing the pictures:)
Seeing the title I thought we were to be treated to Richard or Louis or a certain famous steam engine but the lines led us to a far more delightful destination: will be perused at leisure when the weekend hopefully gives one an hour or two off. Hope the weather is fine and warm for you, the food superb and the wine just right on the palate 🙂 !
Many thanks, Eha, nice sentiments:)
Your pictures not only make me want to meet these people. They also make me want to sample everything they cook. Everything looks great!!
Cheers, Andra….they were such nice people to work with:)
What a delight, Roger, picture # 9 B&W, is that the most famous chef of the world… Bocuse…? I remember back than in Germany when I was a professional book seller, I would sell his books hundrets of times.
You’re the second person to think that, Cornelia…in fact it is Pierre Orsi, chef/owner at the eponymous restaurant Orsi in Lyon. I’m going to do a post about Bocuse in the next couple of days:)
This stuff is heaps good. Really damn good my friend 🙌
Many thanks…glad it hit the spot:)
