Unaccustomed as I am…

I was going to start with the words -to be honest- but thought better of it as it suggests that hitherto I have been less than honest. Cutting to the chase, I’m not at all keen on awards in relation to blogs as they seem to remove the basic idea of sharing thoughts and ideas. It would certainly be a surprise to receive an award from one’s bank manager for writing the most convincing and amusing begging letters. Roberto Alborghetti has passed this award on to me, and because he has written some very moving posts, I feel I have to go along with the spirit of the award although the idea of passing this chore along to another 10 unwitting subjects goes against the grain. I also have a feeling that my answers will be incredibly dull as I don’t have “favourite colours” or other favourite things except momentarily.

Questions that I have to answer:

Favourite colour: Today, anything bright

Favourite animal: Ones that aren’t keen to eat me.

Favourite number: Low in age, high in earnings

Favourite non alcoholic drink: Water – on the rocks with a twist

Facebook or Twitter: Twitter

My Passion: I just hate that overused word – like “love” it is used too frequently so becomes meaningless.

Giving or getting presents: It delightful to give but I thoroughly enjoy receiving.

Favourite flower: Impossible to answer – we have tiny winter daffodils on the table which I very much like.

My rationale for the nominee: I’ve been asked to do it:-)

I feel dreadful having given you wonderful people this chore. PLEASE NEVER NOMINATE ME FOR AN AWARD – this isn’t being churlish, but it just takes so much time to write this amount of bollocks:-)

I wish you had included Mr (formerly Sir) Fred Goodwin in your list. I would like (not love) to know his favourite colour (Red, Blue or a faintly grubby Orange). Frankly the whole British honours system is a farce and should be suspended until it is completely overhauled and only people who really deserve it receive honours.

  4. Um, Thanks? I think?
I’ll admit, I share your disdain, even though I’ve played this game a few times. Recently, I’ve just used them as a way to point-out a few blogs no one else was reading. I never pass them to people who don’t want to play, or big, well-known bloggers.
Except Greg. I like to bug him….
On the other hand, there’s a bit of Primary-School pride in being recognized…like getting a Participation Ribbon, just ’cause I tried my best… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Well, glad you did respond as it made me gigle (especially the answer to the numbers). And thank you, I think, for the mention….

  6. Although I speak for everyone in saying you properly deserve every award out there, I learned my lesson about subsequently awarding another to you. Congrats nonetheless! Thank you for passing it onto me. I’m honored!

  7. Thanks so much for the mention and the award this morning.. um, but not sure what the award was;) since you didn’t state… lol! Loved your answers though, I suppose one purpose is to allow another wee glimpse into your mind… (oops, I said the “L” word again, sorry) L… um… like, Smidge

  8. Oh no, I think we have a list of these we still have to address you bugger! OK, seriously. Thanks for passing it along and I like your favorite number.

Thanks, Roger, for bestowing upon our kitchens so prestigious an honor in so grand a manner. You really shouldn’t have. Really. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Congrats on the award. And, lucky there isn’t a LOVE button as I would have clicked on it. ๐Ÿ˜‰
