Taking up the gauntlet…..

I have been asked by a fellow blogger – yummychunklet.wordpress.com – no, I’m not kidding, to take part in a challenge in which I will list various posts that I have written under different headings. I am so incredibly uncompetitive, and equally unsure of the quality of my posts, that the selection has had to be randomised. With headings such as “The most useful post”, you can see my dilemma. I don’t think I’ve ever written anything useful, and I don’t intend to start now. The upshot is that I have selected a set of posts that I liked at 7.ooam this morning, with a hangover.

1/ The most beautiful post – Gimme Shelter http://wp.me/p1eX3k-vu

2/ The most popular – Last of last Summer’s sun dried tomatoes http://wp.me/p1eX3k-g3

3/ The most controversial – PC England is amongst the injured – http://wp.me/p1eX3k-vS

4/ The most helpful – Basil and Jamie; a fertile combination – http://wp.me/p1eX3k-v5

5/ The post that was surprisingly successful – I’m in a blue condition http://wp.me/p1eX3k-ut

6/ The post that did not get the attention it deserved – Cocos beans on a blue background – http://wp.me/p1eX3k-u3

7/ The post I am most proud of – A little pot http://wp.me/p1eX3k-1H and A good morning http://wp.me/p1eX3k-8H

I am also duty bound to nominate the following fellow bloggers ( about to become enemies, I’m guessing) to make their choices. I should mention that I am a devout enemy of chain letters … then why have you done it, you swine?

  1. How embarrassing, I did that wrong. Okay, I get it now. I’ll work on it.

Well my favorite among those you mentioned is cocos beans on a blue background. I feel like you too. Sometimes you feel that a post is your best work so far but it isn’t. Yet, some others do better than you expected!

  3. I’m with Rosemary, even though she’s embarrassed. You’re a wonderful photographer. Coming here is always fun. We put the photos in our scheduled response post, that’s probably wrong too who knows! Hope the hangover’s gone.

  4. Thank you so much for indulging me by participating. I will admit, I was a bit hesitant. I kept thinking, “This doesn’t seem to be his thing. He might not do it.” But, I’m very glad you did! And, seeing several posts of yours that I hadn’t read before makes me want to scour your archives. Yes, I’m a nerd like that. Hope the hangover is being coaxed into submission.

  5. How lovely to be able to see some of your posts that were “pre” my subscription. Those little basil plants are grown here to keep flies away from the house. They are very pretty and have a delicate perfume. My mother in law tells me that in her youth the young girls used to wear a little sprig behind their ears to make them smell nice (the girls that is,not just their ears!).

  6. It’s my first time here and I’m now wondering what took me so long to find your blog! Luckily I landed on this post because these 7 links gave me an idea of what your site’s all about. And I like it :-).

  7. Karen says:

Oh Roger, Thank you so much for including me in your challenge. I feel honored that you have put me in such good company. You’re not a swine…but this is difficult. I’m always inspired by your photos and keen sense of humor and it was interesting to see how you have rated your own blogs.

  8. joshuafagans says:

etu Roger? Not sure my blog has been around long enough to qualify…

  9. I’m not sure whether to thank you or not for this as I never join in these blog games…..but I’ll try, this time, in the same spirit as you have, I’ll accept the gauntlet and the honour. But not for a day or too as I’m just too busy to think about it with family here. Nice to have the links to some of your earlier posts that I haven’t read!
