Maple syrup and blue skies

This is the river Mere which runs through the forest right by our house. The bare branches are the only indication that this is early March. This is one of the locations that we use on our digital photography courses. Even in high summer this is a peaceful place with few people evident, save for the fishermen who sit silently contemplating the water and the possible big one. This picture suggests a bigger, wilder country like Canada, which got me thinking about maple syrup and cranberries, which I have just had for breakfast.
