Present imperfect

Photographing a creme brulée in soft morning light after a cup of good coffee seemed like a good start. All was well with the world and God was in his heaven. There are perfect mornings, and perfect mornings that are flawed. The flaw is not evident at first. The effect is similar to a slow puncture and similarly deflating. As I downloaded my pictures I saw this Twitter link-  –http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2011/03/05/manning/index.html

Up to that moment I had never heard of Bradley Manning. The injustice and madness of the injustice is so commonplace now, yet here am I passing my mornings photographing puddings and waxing sentimental over sheep and pigs whilst all these forgotten people are in the most dreadful despair and misery. Present imperfect; future conditional.
