Digital photography holidays

Camerahols offer a relaxing way to fathom the mysteries of digital photography, and to enjoy the gastronomic pleasures of the area,  in the peace of the Vendéen countryside. The courses are limited to a maximum of 4 people, which ensures personal attention. Someone might want to find out how their camera works, or simply to understand the menu, whilst another might be interested in the finer points of picture manipulation. There is time and opportunity for each client to achieve their own goals. Each morning we go to a different location to learn photographic techniques, which we then discuss over a leisurely lunch in a carefully chosen restaurant near to the location. Afternoons are spent at the base looking at the morning’s work on computers and dipping into the magic of Photoshop. In the evening we gather for drinks before a 4-course gourmet dinner, with wine. Our aim is to provide our guests with a relaxing holiday, during which they can learn about digital photography at their own pace. This is not a schoolroom scenario, so sitting reading by the pool is a good option when the megapixel talk is getting you down.

Jenny and I have run Camerahols courses since 2006. The holiday not only helps with improving your knowledge of photography, but also has a strong gastronomic flavour. There is also the opportunity to get to see some of the hidden Vendée, one of the lesser known areas of France. For more information please visit our site on www.camerahols.com

I’d love to come on one of your courses. As impoverished pensioners, I wonder if they are affordable. We live in Manche – I suppose about 4 hours from the Vendée.

  7. I’ve just discovered your blog and love this idea! I post about France most Fridays on my blog and would love to feature you one week, so I will be in touch. Happy New Year!
