As promised, here are another week’s recipes from Laurence Méry-Clark’s self published book “Je mange bien tous les jours”. In a world of allergies and picky eaters at one extreme and the fastidious fine diners at the other, Laurence is perfectly positioned for me. She writes of food that is made with easily obtainable ingredients that are prepared without recourse to complicated and time consuming operations. There is love in this food, not exhaustion.

Great picture Roger
…and she obviously loves Portobello Road!
She’s no fool then. She is a very successful film editor to boot, and her husband is Jim Clark who won the Oscar for editing “Midnight Cowboy”
I found this, but very little else:

Nice one, MD. I hadn’t seen that. You can find her filmography and that of Jim Clark http://movies.yahoo.com/person/laurence-meryclark/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Clark_(film_editor)
That is great food! Love the gammon.
It’s a good week’s menu, huh?
Wonderful, Roger! And that bit about home made hamburgers – it’s the truth. And quicker than jumping in the car to go down to get burgers from Sainsbury’s.
Home made is the way, I think.
Wonderful! Big Man is drooling at the creme caramel as “flan” (as they call it in Spain) is his favourite…
I’d forgotten the word “flan”. Funnily enough they use it here sometimes.
Oh my gosh. I could eat all of this right now. Dover sole is one of my favorite recipes from MTM. Whenever we find it at the market, we buy.
Same as my wife. Expensive tastes, but good:)
I wouldn’t miss that dessert. Or the rest.
You’re a good judge:)
It all sounds fantastic!
Tbanks for stopping by, Greg:)
Actually I love cleaning calamari also: love when all the extraneous is in the sink and am holding this pristine white thing in my hands! And, being a good North European gal I am, give me a lovely salmon and I truly enjoy making gravlax at home: count the hours and days after till it can be used . . . thanks for the memory . . .
All things that I like too:)
Further proof that food needn’t be complicated to be good. And any weekly menu that includes both calamari and pasta dishes is OK by me!
Could have been written for you, John:)
I want just one bite of this!
The second is even better:)
I like the sound of the stuffed mushrooms snack lunch.
Maybe life isn’t too short to stuff a mushroom:)
What a lovely treat. I’m always looking for good, uncomplicated recipes. The photo is gorgeous.
Thanks for that, and enjoy:)
real food does not have to be very complicated. good fresh ingredients are the basis of the best meals
I think this is going to be the mantra.
It is a healthy one as well. Delicious plus good for you. Wonderful

That photo is divine…
simplify simplify simplify…how easy (truly) to be so satisfied…
The more I see this little book, the better I think it is.
