A quiet warm grey day started with taking last night’s meringues out of the now cold oven. As summer starts, even grey summer, fly covers are important in our kitchen, but maybe not as important as light. The rest of today’s kitchen time will be spent checking out Theo Randall’s pizza dough recipe. I think the sun just came out which has encouraged one the critters to make an attempt on the saucisson.

Boy do we need some of those for our kitchen. We’re always opening the doors to let the dogs in and out.
I love your photos, the meringues look fabulous and the fly against that blue is great. My mum used to make meringues when we lived in South American without an oven, it was hot enough! Glad I have found your blog it is so beautiful.
Your meringues look spectacular! Those flies better stay away!
I really love vintage fly covers, they look amazing. The meringues look good too!
